Scenes from sonoma

Back from our amazing trip to CA. For the second half of our trip we hit Sonoma, did some wine tasting and lots and lots of eating. We celebrated our anniversary at French Laundry, truly the most amazing dining experience I have ever had (or may ever have in the future!). Our trip ended on a high note at Annie and Kevin's seriously adorable vineyard wedding. I'll post more pics hopefully later this week!

Friday flowers

Happy friday from the C. Donatiello winery! Yummy pinots and a beautiful aroma garden that mirrors many of the notes in the wines like asian pear, pink lady apple, lemon verbena, bing cherry and a variety of roses. The fragant herbs and flowers also attract the bees and other insects that help pollinate the vineyard.

Scenes from san fran

Having a wonderful time on the west coast.
Some highlights from our 4 days in san francisco and the east bay:
Ferry building and gourmet saturday farmers market. We had deliciously strong blue bottle coffee individually dripped at the stand. Yank Sing, by far the best dim sum in america. Hog island oysters for lunch with sparkling rose. A visit with my friend maxine and her super cute family. A walk in muir woods and a picnic on muir beach. Delicious dinner on the mountainside in lafayette, the eggs on the lovely salad are from the chickens on the property!

Numbered napkins

Really fun at home, or what about instead of table numbers for a party? it only works if you have 10 tables (or fewer), but what a cute way to let your guests know where to sit! Heather Lins Home via Snippet & Ink.

Chunky in a good way

I know it is completely ridiculous that I am obsessing over a hat when its eighty-bagillion degrees and sweaty outside, but I saw this cute knit two tone winter hat at bloomingdale's and know its on my list for fall. Super thick and cosy. Sounds gross now, but in two short months, I won't be leaving the house without it. And possibly this.

Red eye

I really enjoyed this Abstract City blog entry of an illustrated diary documenting the highlights of a New York to Berlin flight.

Cake dress

The lovely petaled cake from yesterday's post had a familiar look to it. It was driving me crazy because I knew I had seen that cascading floral design before. I am guessing that this is the dress that inspired the dessert. Carolina Herrera Spring 2009.

Gorgeous

Stunning cake by Melody of the sweet & saucy shop. via 100 layer cake.

Also, unrelated to beautiful cakes, but related to being beautiful in general, did you catch this New York Times article a couple of weeks ago about aging gracefully, the French way?

Hope you had a good weekend! We spent some time finally making decisions on our wedding album. Our photographer, Belen from Gerber + Scarpelli, did such a great job, it was just really hard to choose. Cannot wait until that project is done! I also got to pop into Paper Source, so maybe I will have time this week to create something fun. Stay tuned.
