Rustic and green
Loving the floral and details from this Ojai, California wedding. So green and natural in such a pretty setting. Her bouquet looks like something that could have been plucked out of a Tuscan garden. From Once Wed.

Mix and match
I have always liked the idea of individual dresses on bridesmaids and especially love this particular mix of neutral colors and the pop of coordinating pattern! via Pinterest.

lovely simple table

Really like the pretty and neutral table setting here, via once wed today. Twine, burlap, kraft paper and wood, accented by white china and simple, twiggy florals. This would be a lovely setting for a cosy dinner party. The kraft paper here was used for seating assignments, but would be a great place to write out a menu for a more informal party.

Iphone Super 8
My husband shot this little video at our friends Brian and Casey's wedding this past Saturday with the Super 8 app on his phone. Yes, on his phone. Song is Holocene by Bon Iver. Brian and Casey look so sweet and happy, I just love it.
Nice work honey!

Last weekend

I spent last weekend celebrating the wedding of my dear friend Katy. She let me do the flowers, which was an honor and a true labor of love. Am hoping her photographer will share so I can bring you the real fabulousness of her wedding, which was held in a very industrial space that Katy and her fiance (whoops, sorry- HUSBAND!!!) Jamie transformed into a serious party venue.

Black & white

Saw this board on Snippet & Ink back in August. The black and white palette is just simple, timeless and puts the focus on fun fonts and details (like the cute talking buttons in the middle) without looking like there is too much going on.
Weddings SO on the brain this week.... am very excited for my dear friend Katy to get hitched this weekend!

A loft and lot of receipt paper

Amazing space and hanging paper backdrop. Simple white tables help the venue really show itself off. Original and the details are so well thought out. Via 100 Layer Cake. Check out the rest of the photos!

Mason jars

These are so cool! Love mason jars, love chandeliers in a tent, outdoors, anywhere they are unexpected. Not sure if these can be lit though? 100 layer cake.

Horse farm wedding shoot

Love this wedding shoot on 100 layer cake. Rustic, romantic, and understated. I especially like the maple wood paper goods and table made with hay bales!

Annie & Kevin's Sweet Sonoma Wedding part 1
Congrats to Annie & Kevin! We were so honored to join them last saturday at their wedding in Sonoma. Both the ceremony and reception were held at Copain Winery in Healdsburg. As you can see from the photos, it has an amazing view. The wines they were serving were lovely as well! Among the super cute details: being greeted at the hotel by a package of fresh jam and croissants, a vintage car parked in the driveway, the annie hearts kevin sign, chicken coop wire with clothespins holding the escort cards, placecards pinned to figs at every seat, and loads of mini cupcakes at the end of the night. So fun!

Numbered napkins

Really fun at home, or what about instead of table numbers for a party? it only works if you have 10 tables (or fewer), but what a cute way to let your guests know where to sit! Heather Lins Home via Snippet & Ink.Wednesday, August 4, 2010
Cake dress
The lovely petaled cake from yesterday's post had a familiar look to it. It was driving me crazy because I knew I had seen that cascading floral design before. I am guessing that this is the dress that inspired the dessert. Carolina Herrera Spring 2009.

Gorgeous

Also, unrelated to beautiful cakes, but related to being beautiful in general, did you catch this New York Times article a couple of weeks ago about aging gracefully, the French way?

Streamers
Love the streamers from this wedding on 100 Layer Cake. So breezy, summery and romantic. I like that this couple is not afraid of color. More sweet creativeness: the shutters used for escort cards and the funny but totally true signage.
