perfect pears

My parents sent us a dozen beautiful Riviera pears as a sweet Valentine's treat. We've been eating them in a variety of ways to make sure we eat them all and not one goes to waste! The salad pictured above is my favorite. Toasted walnuts, chopped shallot, arugula, grated pecorino romano and pears baked in a honey glaze.
We have also enjoyed pear Bellinis (pear puree in champagne) and, for breakfast, pears over granola with yogurt and honey. Yum!

Drool. This spread on adorably french restaurant Buvette is in this month's Martha. Will definitely be checking this place out the next time I am in NYC. Besides the super cute Buvette bicycle, the article starts with tartines and ends with spoons of Nutella. Come on!

I received the beautifully photo-filled Design Sponge hardcover for Christmas and can't wait to spend some more time with it. Grace Bonney's enthusiasm for the non- traditional approach to design is obvious and the images are fun and inspiring. Makes me want to do some redecorating...

I'm back!

Phew, I've been traveling for work and very happy to be home and back on PLM. Am searching for great valentine's cards today... you know I am not into mushy holidays, but I do love that perfect card.
