paper plane party

How cool is this paper plane installation?! Recycled paper and monofilament line (plus some nice soft colored lighting). Would be fun for a child's party or room. From Design*sponge.

lovely simple table

Really like the pretty and neutral table setting here, via once wed today. Twine, burlap, kraft paper and wood, accented by white china and simple, twiggy florals. This would be a lovely setting for a cosy dinner party. The kraft paper here was used for seating assignments, but would be a great place to write out a menu for a more informal party.

i love this

Am so excited I can barely type. The crafting nerd in me is drooling. An end of winter knitting party complete with fingerless gloves in winter whites, adorable invites, and spring tulips in jars, wearing knitted collars!! Amazing. See the rest of the details on Design Sponge.

Numbered napkins

Really fun at home, or what about instead of table numbers for a party? it only works if you have 10 tables (or fewer), but what a cute way to let your guests know where to sit! Heather Lins Home via Snippet & Ink.Thursday, July 22, 2010
Summer BBQ at the cottage

I am so in love with this fabulous dinner party thrown as the kick-off to my friend Missy's weekend-long family celebration in Mattapoisett, Mass. The family came in from all over to celebrate the baptism of Missy's sister's youngest daughter and, wow, did these parents put on a beautiful party! The menus and invites were printed on maplewood which coordinated back to wood plates and utensils as well as the maplewood smoked meats that were served for dinner. The chic long table has a great natural sea-inspired feel with an abundance of organic materials and pretty, muted water colors. Missy's sister arranged the blue hydrangeas from the garden in clay pots herself. The food was prepared by a chef friend, Wayne Gibson, from South Coast Local in Mattapoisett. And to top it all off, handmade milkshakes and fireworks! Ahhhh, this is what summer looks like. Congratulations to Ivy and her parents on her baptism and a perfect weekend. Lobster boil
I think this inspiration board from Snippet & Ink is a perfect rehearsal dinner set up. Love lobster to start, but the personalized bibs and lobster invites really get me. Cute and coordinated but totally casual. It never hurts when the theme revolves around food either.

M&M baby shower
Each guest brought Molly a book for her baby. The hostesses had sent a label with the invitation to stick inside the front cover with a message for the baby and the new parents. All of the guests then brought Mandy a 2010 artifact for baby to see when she's older. I contributed my copy of Twilight. I think baby might be amused in the future by the phenomenally popular teen vampire craze.

Josie's tea party

My friend Kara put together the cutest tea party themed 2nd birthday party for her youngest daughter Josie. So sweet! As always, I heart paper poms.
